Project Details

Project Name   : KMF Milk Product Plant
Location   : Channarayapatna, Karnataka
Year Of Completion   : 2009
Area   : 12,800 Sq.M.

This Project was initiated by National Dairy Development Board (NDDB). It is a 600KL Milk Production and 30T Milk Powder Plant located in Channarayapatna of Karnataka State.

One of the largest Milk Product Plants we had designed in the recent past. Architectural, Structural and Plumbing Design Consultancy were provided by Pithavadian and Partners. The Site was about 8200 Sq.M. The Master plan was prepared keeping in mind the contours of the Site and the Flow of Process.

Ancillary and support buildings like Administration Block, Workers Amenities Block, Weigh Bridge, Tanker Bay, and Service Block were designed alongside the Milk Production and Powder Plant Buildings. Large storage areas for the finished products were also planned to provide for easy loading onto the trucks.

Each building was designed with special features to let in natural light through either through skylights or through open courtyards. These proved to be very efficient. The rain water pipes from the terrace which flows onto the courtyards had simple iron chains dropping down to smoothen the flow of water falling down. These acts as design feature and also serve the purpose in an efficient manner.

The elevation portrays a simple facade with two tones of exposed aggregate finish. All the buildings follow the same pattern to create a resemblance in this large campus.
